Wood gearshift knob for MGBs with OD switch on gearshifter By Steve Savage My 1980 MGB's cast metal gearshift knob suffered a mauling from the PO(s) though I don't know why because the car didn't originally have an overdrive. Never-the-less, the casting was damaged such that it was a bit of a loose fit and the plastic cap had a habit of coming off when shifting gear.
